Privacy Policy

The GhostVM Mac app works locally. It does not require an account and does not send analytics, advertising data, VM contents, selected files, clipboard contents, terminal input, or diagnostic logs to us.

1. The GhostVM Mac app

GhostVM stores virtual-machine definitions, disks, configuration, security-scoped file permissions, and preferences on your Mac. Data exchanged with a guest—including display input, clipboard data, files, and Guest Terminal commands—travels locally between the host app, its authorized background Agent, and the Guest Tool inside your virtual machine. We do not operate a GhostVM cloud service that receives this data.

The Mac App Store edition uses NAT networking for virtual machines. Network activity performed inside a guest operating system is controlled by that guest and the software you run in it, not by a GhostVM analytics or advertising service.

2. App analytics and tracking

The app contains no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, cross-app tracking, account system, or developer-operated telemetry upload. Operational logs remain on the local Mac unless you choose to include information in a support request.

3. Website waitlist

If you join the optional website waitlist, we store the email address you submit, the form source, submission timestamps and count, and limited request metadata provided by Cloudflare (IP address, user agent, and country). We use this information only for requested GhostVM release and product updates, abuse prevention, and delivery operations.

4. Support requests

If you use the support form, we store your email address, subject, message, optional app version, optional macOS version, submission time, and a support reference. Do not include passwords, private keys, personal guest data, or confidential VM contents. We use support data only to investigate and respond to the request.

5. Service provider and disclosure

The public website, waitlist, and support intake use Cloudflare for hosting, request delivery, and object storage. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or to a service provider acting under our instructions.

6. Retention and choices

We retain waitlist and support records only while needed for the stated purpose, security, and legal obligations. You may request access, correction, deletion, or removal from updates through the GhostVM support form. Include the email used for the original request so we can locate the record.

7. Children and changes

GhostVM is a developer and virtualization utility and is not directed to children. We may update this policy when product or website data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
